About Us
Who are you, and what are you really trying to sell me?

The Hiring Collective believes in a better service at a lower price. We think that being completely transparent and open with our customers, interviewers, job candidates and competitors will allow us to rise above the questionable ethics that it seems many recruiting firms use on a regular basis. We believe that an informal network of interested parties is stronger than a corporate hierarchy, but we're not going to rub buzzwords all over the idea. We're here to sell you the best recruiting service available at a lower price than an average recruiting firm.

That all sounds good in theory, but really, how does this work?

  • Company A provides The Hiring Collective job descriptions and private interviewer notes.
  • The Hiring Collective staff searches resumes using keywords from the job descriptions.
  • Interviewers (working high tech professionals) read the job descriptions and compare a short list of possible resume matches.
  • An interviewer selects a candidate from the resumes.
  • The Hiring Collective staff arranges an interview appointment with the candidate and interviewer.
  • The interview is conducted via phone and internet white board application.
  • If the interviewer's impressions of the candidate are positive, the candidate resume and interviewer notes are passed on to Company A.
  • Company A interviews the candidate - the hiring manager has read the interviewer notes and knows more about the candidate than they would otherwise.
  • When Company A pays The Hiring Collective for the hire, a percentage of that payment goes directly to the interviewer.

How do you prevent "gaming the system" or cheaters?

The Hiring Collective interviewers are literally hand-picked. We are very selective and the majority of the interviewers have a personal connection to the management of The Hiring Collective.

In the very near future we will provide an eBay-style ratings system for companies to rate interviewers.
